This version of "My Memphis Baby" was recorded at The Harp Hotel, Albrighton, Shropshire, England on Tuesday, Sept. 18th. 2007 by Sarah Spencer and her TransAtlantic Friends.
Sarah, tenor sax player extraordinaire, returns to England from New York to do gigs with her friends from this side of the Atlantic. They are Dave Copperwaite on trumpet, Derek Galloway on trombone, Louis Lince on banjo (and smart suit!), Bill Evans on drums and Jim Swinnerton on bass. The Harp has become one of the regular venues for these trips and "Memphis Baby" was just one number from a most entertaining evening, another was "Bogalusa Strut" which is also on YouTube.
Sessions at the Harp are held every Sunday lunchtime and Tuesday evening. Details from John or Marie Howell on 01902 756158 See us at www.jazzclub90.supanet.com
