speaking as a buddhist I can say you have got this wrong GonG108. It is well documented That HHDL. has banned this practice and is causing lots of problems for anyone who refuses to follow his orders. I hope he can soon happily accept that many sincere practioners wish to practice Shugden worship in peace alongside other buddhists.

the motivation for al jazeera to make such a doku is only to discredit budhism and to show how violent it is , in compare to the ah so peacefull muslim religion, what you said maybe right but i don t want to hear this from the mouth of someone who is not even able to understand what buddhism is all about, this is just muslim propaganda, and they would tell the same or other things about shugden , it is not abput to defend the shugden it is about to discredit everything else then islam

Nobody can force nobody in democratic society.
Certainly Dalai Lama has given option to DS followers that if they want to continue to practice then they may not come to his teachings. What is the point of teaching when they don't listening to what you teach.
Or course they can go to their home and do whatever they want. Who can stop them what they do?
For example, if you are working for a company, you have to follow the policy and rules of the company. Otherwise you can leave.

Actually, the Dalai Lama is trying to completely remove Dorje Shugden worshippers from all monastaries and Tibetan society. Hundreds of monks were kicked out of their monastaries after a "referendum" where they had to publicly choose a red or yellow stick to say if they would continue their practice of Dorje Shugden. This is not merely about attending his "public" teachings.... as these poor monks have found out the hard way. This is systematic discrimination which is clear from the video.
