I am not English. I am Scottish. Though both nations distinguished themselves in WW2 because we had better national leadership and a more advantageous geography - defended by the channel.

Sadly, the Danes, the Dutch and other small continental nations near Germany had no such advantages.

To admit that you Danes were weak, at a disadvantage is fair.

What makes you think Scotland is a nation? Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you guys speak Scots, which is basically an English dialect? And don't less than 5% of the ppl in Scotland speak the original Gaelic tongue? How exactly did you distinguish yourselves? By fighting as vassals in the Army of the English for a foreign Queen??? Yeah, you are right, the 3 million of us or so in WWII would have made a big difference if we stood and fight. We might even have won the war for you.

Loetjnant - Scotland is a land, stupid, a geographical entity. The Scots are a nation and what makes us a nation is if you consider yourself a Scot then chances are you ARE a Scottish national.

What distinguishes us is usually some connection with Scotland. What did you expect? Oh, you want details. OK.
