Yes, standard equipment under the bonnet was an 1152cc sidevalve motor coupled to a three speed manual gearbox. And vacuum operated windscreen wipers that slowed down, the faster you went. Just the job for delivering groceries or newspapers in the fifties. This van would shortly be superceeded by the Thames van version of the 105E Anglia, with a stonking 997cc's of overhead valve Kent engine under the bonnet - oops, sorry, the bonnet pull on Anglias was actually labelled 'HOOD'!
Hey, Mick..thanks for the particulars on this van! Don't you love those vacuum wipers! Funny that Anglia should call it a hood...must have been a transfer from America! :D Thanks for the great comments! :) Jack
Yeah, I'd hate to burden it with a big load! But it does show how they were able to adapt the sedan into a sedan delivery! I'm assuming they used the same chassis, maybe extended a bit. A friend had the car version, and puttered around town in it! Thanks for the comment, Pete! :) Jack
They are the same as the Anglia in every way except side doors backward. Very rare now days and big money in the UK in original form, average around $10,000 for a really good one!
You never know what's going to be a collectible and worth lots of money...In the mid 70's here they were selling new convertibles for big money, because they were going to stop producing them. They did, for awhile, then Iacoca's KCar from Chrysler brought them out again. Some had collected 2 Cadillac converts, one to drive, one in dry storage! Edsel hasn't appreciated as one might have expected. But the common 55 Chevy.. who knew..they became big dollar collectibles! Thanx for the comment! :)

In any way with charme.
(I don´t need this kind of charme....hahaha..)
