On Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, HBO's "The Wire" program celebrated its 5th and final season on the air. At the historic "Senator Theatre," in Baltimore, MD, a sidewalk square was dedicated (titled) to the show to mark the occasion. Sharing her views of "The Wire" program was the Hon. Sheila Dixon, Mayor of the City of Baltimore. Afterwards, a private screening of the first episode was held.

Now I know nothing about Baltimore aside from what I've seen in The Wire, but politicians in The Wire act just like this. It doesn't surprise me that the mayor isn't saying "Yeah Baltimore's a shithole full of drugs and corruption".
How funny is this ! She said at the top, The Wire is not Baltimore, a few months later she arrested for stealing gift cards intended for the less fortunate. It goes way beyond ironic, my English fails me. David Simon doesnt need to make it up ! Beautiful !
She is lying. I lived in Baltimore city forever and just about ever corner has a deep reflection of the wire. Only it's worse. She steals anyway, that should tell you everything you need to know about how much she cares about the struggles of citizens in this city.
