I think the only fighter aircraft better than the Typhoon are the F-22, F-35 when it comes into service and possibly the Su-35 although that could be debatable, to compare an F16 or F15, Mig 29, Su-27, Tornado etc to a Typhoon there is no contest as has been proven before, look it up.
Man, Moment n machine. U need 3 aspects to win a dogfight. Red Baron was an ace with inferior fighter, Britishs were flying wooden spitfires n beat the German with fw109s, again Britishs flying subsonic Harriers and beat Argentines flying with Mirages. Isrealis flying Mirages were unbeatable in mid East shooting down MiG21s, which were the most advanced fighter at that time. History has proven it. Well trained pilots, competitive machine, n a small oppotunity window. That's how aces were made.
Suppose you didn't know that in a mock dogfight a single Typhoon bested a pair of F-15's then?
Not much contest between a F-22 and Typhoon at long range, or a F-22 and just about anything BVR. Stealth counts.
But in a dogfight who knows. Remember the photo from a F/A-18E with a F-22 in its sights.
As for the F-15, undeniably still an absolutely fantastic jet that can still beat anything else, but its somewhat ignorant to think that a number of other jets won't give it a run for its money.
Mock dogfight? I appreciate stealth, I really do. But until the Typhoon proves itself in the real world (all radar and sensors on) then I will support the number one greatest air show drawer and number one air superiority fighter for like.......um....30 years. No mock needed there.
By that logic, you're also saying the same about the F-22A which is also yet to prove itself in the 'real world'.
But as it happens, both the F-22 and Typhoon have already performed their first fully armed 'combat' operations, intercepting Russian Tu-95's over Alaska and the North Sea respectively.
The F-15 has a perfect A2A combat record, but then again so does the little Sea Harrier. Fortunately for both aircraft, neither have ever faced top notch equipment or enemy pilots in real combat.
