so they used this in the wall in the movie, and had a song named after Vera Lynn
, what does she have to do with the wall?

PINK FLOYD THE WALL USED THIS SONG

syd barret is not referenced in The Wall, musically or lyrically, although, the maniacal behavoir of The Wall's protagonist, "Pink" were indeed inspired by Barrets strange behavoir after being kicked out of the band- he showed up during recording of Shine on You Crazy Diamond (a song unmistakingly about barret) with shaved eyebrows- "Pink" shave his eyebrows in the movie The Wall.

Could you please de-stretch the photo, ie, display it at the correct aspect ratio (4:3 rather than 16:9).
Thanks,

I think it was to do with Roger Waters father dying in the war during the first year of his life. Vera Lynn was pretty big around the war years, so maybe his father liked her or Roger grew to like her during the post war years. I guess Roger saw himself as the little boy that santa clause forgot. Pretty sad really. The Wall album seems to hinge heavily around Waters disliking of war. It also makes thinly veiled reference to Syd Barrets supposed insanity. They are the main themes of that album.
does anybody here remember vera lynn?
I keep expecting the vacuum cleaner to cut in...
