Motocross - Appalachia Highlands 1976 125cc

If you were a D5 or D7 rider you remember that rollercoaster of a track between the time of Appalachia Lake and High Point (Mt. Morris) Here's some 8mm video from the national there.

Great shots a Hannah #39, Marty Smith #1appeared faster though. Great year, the year Hannah burst on the scene and beat Smith for the title I believe. Thanks for posting.

Were there two tracks in this area as mxmarketer claims in the mid 1970's? I remember attending Appalachian Lake MX in Bruceton Mills, WV in maybe 1975? and wasn't aware that there was a national held at Appapachian Highlands in nearby Keyser's Ridge, MD, or were they one in the same? Thanks, Jeff from PA

This was either the first or second outdoor national I attended at Appalachia Highlands in Bruceton Mills, WV. Can anyone tell me if there was a national at this track in 1975? Also where can I find a complete list of riders or at least the top ten from each class that rode any of the nationals that were held at Appalachia Highlands. Thanks Jeff from PA

Appalacian Highlands was a track in Kysers Ridge MD that only had 1 national. The track was very rocky. Appalachia Lake was in Bruceton Mills and had a few Nationals before. Both of these tracks were Run by the Coombs family. They run Highpoint and Steel City, and the GNCC today.
