it's a little known fact of musical history that beethoven would encourage the players in a string quartet,after doing one of his new works,to smash up their instruments before leaving the stage and shout viennese obscenitites at the gathered aristocrats in th'audience.i am currently writing a book called'Beethoven-the darkside of genius',exploring these stories.

Tell me about it. Even during the American civil war in the 1860's, I was reading some of the letters these soldiers would write- stunning!! It's like something you would go to buy in a bookstore- and they were just writing to their wives/girls!!!
