We elect a President. His wife comes along for the ride. She is not elected or empowered with any role, responsibility or power. Whether you like George Bush or not, you have to admit that Laura Bush has been the perfect First Lady. She fills the ceremonial role, stays out of the "power" game and just supports her husband.

Michelle Obama will have none of that.

She is an ambitious corporate barracuda lawyer who believes this is all pay-back.
