I never quite understood what was being sold here; "fresh cream cakes" aren't a product, they're a concept. Milk I had no problem with, but I could never really believe there was such a thing as the Cream Cake Marketing Board.

Such were the thoughts of a three year old in the 1980s. Well, roughly.

the catch line "fresh cream cakes, naughty but nice" was created by Salman Rushdie. He worked at Sachi and Sachi before he wrote his famous book.
