We need more like him on the world stage.

Great leader regardless if you care or not for his politics, motives and methodology.

"warmongering"

Your the one whom is retarded speaking to me like I didn't know he was asking for war. What other way do you think the Allies would have beat the Axis??

"that's a Freudian slip of some kind."

It is, thank you for pointing it out. I must be carefeul not to make any more mistakes lest you have trouble reading it even the most simple mistake.

I presumed you would be good at English otherwise I'm sure you would have worked out that it was a mistake.

What a Cunt!!!

Iraq never a threat to the US & UK? Really? I find that hard to believe considering they were blasting SAMs at our planes patrolling the No-Fly Zones. Iraq was a leading proliferator (and recipient of) illegal arms as well as a proliferator of international terrorism. Iraq WAS actively seeking WMD tech. He DID chemical and a nascent bio weapons program but was (thankfully for our troops' sake) lacking nukes. Iraq was a major regional destabilizer, thus a clear-and-present danger post-9/11.

Just because I'm interested in the argument more than anything else but you might be interested to know that the sanctions on iraq were killing children at an incredible rate during the interim years due to lack of food and medicine. There was a moral argument to be made whereby a swift and brutal war followed by competent aid similar to the marshal plan was a better option than protracted starvation.

It is an argument I came up with while arguing your position that I don't ascribe to, one can never really believe that war is anything other than a monumental failure of diplomacy, the sanctions were just an example of that failure. (ps Saddam was a prick, I'm not delusional. Just wanted to make that clear.)

And the war has made it better? Increased terrorism and taliban influence inte the middle east? Mission success?

Apollyon1: you seemed reasonable until that last bit about Bush and Blair having ulterior motives regarding Iraq? Please, enlighten me as to what they'd be. If you suspect oil then you're wrong. Why? America gets its oil from Saudi Arabia and Canada (you read that right). It's Western Europe (particularly France & Germany) which receive oil from Iraq, hence why they were opposed to the war.

I'm not saying that there is no justification for the war, now that it is nearly over I can take a step back and say that there were many tactical advantages for the Iraq war. Threat of force being shown to be true, taking the fight to the terrorists/insurgents, a launching post for other potential invasions, justification of military spending and R&D etc.

However not only are these reasons not the genuine ulterior motive but they do not make justification for war. The real reason for the war was simple - distraction from domestic problems one of the oldest political tricks in the book. Iraq was a very long way away from getting any WMD tech. Weapons inspectors such as Dr David Kelly were there continuously for years and did a fine job of maintaining Iraq's disarmed status.

Finally the main reason why I disagree with the war is how piss poorly managed it was always going to be. The American army has the subtly of Jerry Brukheimer film. The torture pics alone have done ten years of damage to America's reputation. The only reason why the war is coming to a successful conclusion is due to Al Qaeda's utter incompetence and little to do with an army which had not been trained to deal with the situation it created.
