I have been looking for this for years. As so many before me have said, the last dance. My first love, Colin, met at the shows in Lanark on the waltzers a long time ago and long gone. but the song has stayed. Fantastic memories.

I knew a bloke who had a stall at Bowlers Market from about 93 - 2001 who told me he was "Charlie Crane" In fact I even got him a copy of "Please Stay" on CD as he didn't have it. He regailed me of stories of being at the session where PP Arnold was backed by Steve Marriott - Anyone out there can confirm these details?

All I can confirm is that 'the real' Charlie Crane died in 2000

Charlie and his wife were running my local pub in Great Chesterford, The Crown and Thistle up until he died.

People everywhere seem to have known him, or worked with him at some stage. Were or are there any pictures of him at the pub to varify?

I don't have any but I saw him in there enough times to know it was him. I went to his funeral and still have his wife's address (she moved to Devon). The problem is, when someone dies they're not around to defend themselves, and sometimes others seek to benefit from it by twisting the truth.

I believe you! If every one on the comments were right tho, he'd have been a very busy boy indeed. My interest is purely to see if my heartthrob from the sixties had gone on to better things. I've done lots of searches to try and find out, but always draw a blank at the end of his singing career. Was absolutely devastated when I found out he'd died, you look at the young men in the vid and just imagine they stay that way.
Would have come to your pub if I'd known sooner.
