To raise awareness for music education is in the description. The conductor worked with the orchestra to prepare the song. Having the robot conduct shows how talented the musicians are, in the fact that they play perfectly without the actual conductor conducting. However the conductor did do all the work. Saying that a robot is conducting any ensemble will draw a bigger crowd and raise more awareness then saying a conductor is conducting any ensemble.

If it does happen, Couldn't we just send out a wave of electromagnetism to corrupt and distort the programming the ASIMO has? You could wip out the entire army using a magnet... :L
