After getting rootkit virus and now anti virus live on my work computer I just wish Symantec would actually work.

that is odd and unfortunate. Do you keep the Norton definitions up-to-date via the liveupdate? And do you allow your OS to be patched with the latest security updates? Security software needs to be updated to work effectively so that could be the problem.

Actually keeping a virus undetected is very easy, all anti-viruses do is work as a placebo.

Umm I certainly hope that this isn't a joke. But if you are serious, the 192.168.1.1 is typically your home router and not someone trying a hack back. You router must have been asking for some sort of access to a port on your computer for a application you were using.
