Williams to Williams...pass intercepted by Williams...passed to Williams...missed tackle by Williams...Williams passes to Williams and now to Williams...now to Edwards...brilliant! LOL. My favorite rugby try ever.

Nah, the pass to edwards doesn't seem to be a forward, atleast not to me, the ball was infront of him before he was ahead of the passer and he just boosted into it.

Looked like a foward pass to Edwards. Great try - probably the greatest.

PS: Stupid kick by Williams.

How did they get 4 points?

Tries were only worth 4 points back in those days. It wasnt until shortly after the 1991 world cup that tries were changed to 5 points.

You must also remember that this was scored at a time when the game was amatuer status, all of the players had day jobs, some miners, some lawyers and some like the great JPR (the man with one of the strongest necks in the universe it seems) a, Doctor.

You must be aware that this is the Barbarians, a kind of Fantasy XV if you like, and passing and flair has always been a kind of trademark for them.
Throwing caution to the wind like the Babas do is not normally done in club or internationals because of the risk of tackle then turnover or interceptions. That is what makes this the greatest try ever.

i agree. i played both football and rugby. rugby is a brutal game. i came off the field with a lot of bruises and cuts. sometimes i'd come off the football field without any of those. tackling a 300 pound lineman, me being a 165 pound receiver build takes a lot of guts and stupidity cause it doesn't always feel good when the 300 pound lineman comes crashing down to crush your padless body. don't get me wrong, i love both sports, but rugby is much more brutal in every way.
