Andrew was in most of my classes that semester... I wanted to show him this in class, but he didn't show up. He was in some place called "carcerated." www.tobyturner.com

Thekookbuster you are a fag. Cut the political correct bullshit and open your eyes. There is nothing right in police violence, but i guess, you are just trying to protect your colleagues.
Rereading some of my posts, the language was a bit ambiguous. For instance, when I said "does not justify any means of removal" I meant in that it does not justify his removal "through any means necessary" rather than "there is no acceptable method of his removal."
Anyway, I'm skeptical on the "tasers are the safest method of subduing an individual" especially when he was already grounded before tazed, but if you have a link, I'll skim it over. It'd be ignorant to do otherwise.
I'll admit I changed my position when I was proven incorrect, and did not call attention to it. Would you prefer I keep my position after they're proven wrong? The officers action was correct in the eyes of the law-the question is whether the law itself is correct. I have yet to hear anyone actually argue that point.
Here are the facts. Meyer broke the forum rules & was told to leave. He refused, and in so doing was trespassing. The officers moved to remove him from the auditorium, as was their duty. He resisted them, became more disruptive, & broke several laws. They arrested, then subdued him when he resisted.
They were 100% in the right in their actions. And this entire event was entirely Meyer's fault.
You can come to terms with that, or you may keep whining. Doesn't change the facts.
Let me break this down: It is my opinion that, even if tasers really are the safest methodology, the officer should have some requirement to inform the suspect that if he does not comply, he will be tazed, and then offer the ability to comply. Our subject here said "Don't taze me bro" which sounds to me like submission. He was then tazed. Now, maybe he was informed of the possibility of being tazed well ahead of time-if that's the case, fine. But don't just say "the officer was in the right."
But better yet, allow me to end this display of self-indulgence on all sides by resorting to the enacting of Godwin's law.
"You know who else supported an executive with unchecked power? *Hitler*"
There, I made a Hitler reference, and therefore lost the argument. No resolution has been reached, but the introduction of Hitler is evidence that none can be reached. Ergo, any further commentary is the academic equivalence of masturbation.

And you lost this argument 2 years ago.

I say good day!
