Yeah. Its even worse when you consider she had been dead for years when the commercial came out, so who ever has rights to the song basically completely disrespected the Joplin's original intent.

The irony which no one here picks up is that no one cares about the message in her song, she advertised in her own song, Mercedes Benz, so she has only herself to blame for that.
