This video is great (enjoyed the music too). My son lives just across the river from the big crane so it was lovely for me to see the clyde as it was in it's industrial heyday.

You can get this version of the theme on iTunes and Spotify, actually. There also a version by the composer Jimmy Shand on his "Greatest Hits". The newer version of the theme, written by Ally Bain in 1994, was never commercially available, sadly (although you can hear it almost in its entirety on the "Para Handy's Tales" double-cassette of stories read by Gregor Fisher, the BBC brought out in the 90s ... )

The song is called Para Handy, it's also the theme song for an old scotish comedy called The Vital Spark which is about a boat and character's from old storys called Para Handy Master Mariner by Neil Munro

Terrific. I remember as a small boy watching the series - my dad always went on about Para Handy. Thanks for this.
