Another progectile that stays seated properly and gives ecellent penetration is a hex head nut. Out of a box of 100 I will take 50 and drive a 3/8 inch steel ball in the center of it for weight this is very dramatic on impact. The nut measures 3/8 thickness and the thread diameter is also 3/8. Overall width of the nut is 9/16. The zinc plated are cheaper. This type projectile is by far more accurate and effective than a steel ball.

Ammunition also is a factor in accuracy. The type of ammo the Bean Shooter uses is rather large and fits securly in the pouch. The white tracer ammo is too small and so is the 1/4, 5/16, 3/8 steel ammo because they dont center well and neither do they stay centered. Notice the limestone rocks he uses. I like to use marbles due to their size and the wight provide a great impact. No airial trick shoot just straight on slammin up to 50 feet dead on accurate.

I have tried all of the store bought mass produced slingshots available. Also tried different replacement bands. I have found all of them poor in accuracy and not consistant. I studied the bean sooters slingshot and have duplicated one and I found some of the natural type flat rubber for the bands and used a suade leather for the pouch. Notice how and where the bands are attached it makes all the difference. Store bought cannot come close to the style you see the bean shooter man use.
