I have been given a rare film that shows the last of the Trolley buses around the city of Derby, Derbyshire. I would like to hear from people if they have seen this footage before as it looks like there should be more footage than this.
Even though the film is about the Trolley buses I I am more interested in the background, trying to work out the locations. I have watched it several times now and find it facinating.

Fantastic footage of a city I have great connections to (living here over in Nottingham). I wasn't particularly interested in the buses, rather the footage of very familiar places as it was in time gone by. Why though, did they have to have some southerner narrating it.
Definitly recognised the Mackworth Estate. Was up there a few weeks ago sampling the new Optare Solos (for the benefit of a friend, give me something decent any day) running on what must be the same route as the Trolleybuses.
at 4.36 this looks like London Road in Alvaston. I can remember taking the 41 to "Town" as a young boy and enjoying the quaint trolley bus ride. It was a sad day when the trolley busses were scrapped. But can you guess my surprise when I came across trolley busses in Ankara Turkey in the early 1980's, they were single-decker versions and very delapidated at the time, they too have now been scrapped.
