Where is Thomas Dolby, nowadays? He is a fantastic songwriter who, perhaps, didn't have enough confidence in his brilliant musical ability! Is he still only doing private gigs for his mates in LA while "podcasting" at the same time or does he still actually tour?!
Absolutely awesome song - moody and melancholic. I think he wasn't just singing about his uncle who died in a sub accident, but also lamenting the decline of the British Empire.
I SO need to re-check my database on this. I thought Dolby was this synth geek, nobody ever mentioned that he was kinda hot. I won't be rubbin' one out over this fossil, but it is kewl 2 know where synths came from. Oh, and revehent, pass me that bong!
