I also disagree with you that he undermines his position by "how creepy and perverted he is." If you believe, as you say, that his position is correct, then it has to apply to whatever you happen to find to be the most disgusting filth ever created. You can't have it both ways, or you don't really believe there shouldn't be censorship. That's his point.

I think you're missing the point here. It doesn't matter what Zappa, you, or anybody likes. His position is that it's not up to the government to decide what's appropriate for you. Based on your comments, you seem to not like him because you think he's "creepy". Have you actually seen the hot for teacher video? It's very tame compared to things you find on network tv these days.

Well, your comment was positive in nature (towards the video) and then you said, "zappa was/is a god." So it's pretty obvious that you like him a lot, which due to human nature will make you predisposed to agree with him. But, if that is not the case, you can believe however you wish, and you can believe it however genuinely. Just know that beliefs have consequences.

At least two different songs are discussed in the video, one of which he likes, and one of which he doesn't.

"He seems to think that the disgusting songs in question are actually desirable." in the video, he admits that he doesnt like it. maybe you should watch the video next time.

well i honestly don't think that his words are stupid, in fact i think that i makes a lot of really good points in this video. the first time i watched the van halen video, a considerable amount of time before seeing this video, i remember feeling exactly what he said, amused, and also slightly envious that those kids get to go to a more fun school than mine.
anyhow, you can't just make assumptions about how i agree or disagree with him because i think he was talented.
