For those who think this is very "Iranian": The music was written by Alfred Jean Baptiste Lemaire, a French military musician, who came to Iran in 1868! It was the National Anthem during Mozaffaredin Shah until 1933. The words were written much later by Bijan Taraghi.

The beginning is kind of European (or even sounds a bit American to some) but after a few seconds it becomes Iranian. Lumaire learned a lot about Iranian music before hie wrote this.
