Maybe music is written in a form that is universal. Anyone from any country can read the notes. That is why a classic violinist can play celtic. Music is a universal language.

Music is a universal language, BUT the musical style of a particular genre or country is specific to that environment. Irish music should flow, and swing, and stir the heart.
That lady hasn't got a clue. I've said that before.
AND, Lordofpie, Irish music is only written AFTER the event. It is the playing that it should be learnt from. Anyone who only plays Irish music from the dots should be ashamed, as they miss out all the nuances.
