The U.S. Auto Industry and the Ripple Effect

Ford can't be compared to GM, GM is an out of control corp, we fund it, bring it back, we hope and then the new CEO gives us "best car wins" and an add from a football guy that has already sold his image to Radio Shack? GM is dead, long live Ford!

I am 14 years old and live right outside of Detroit and believe me I know more about the auto industry than anyone on here. I'll be straight forward and say yes we fucked up but that's not the plant workers fault that's the CEO's and designers fault. GM and Ford now produce cars that are better quality and fuel efficiency than there Japanese counterpart. I've seen too many friends and family members lose jobs to the auto industry because everyone thinks that the Japanese cars are better.

make better cars,come down on the prices,its just a car not a frickin house,take all the excess garbage out them,give us a car with good gas milage & a cd player..thats all ya need,and dont charge 20 30 40 thousand for it,no wonder people are in debt.

When Inflation hits this false economy its gona be hell to pay! People need new cars, but when Inflation hits they wont be able to afford them..The Feds are destroying their own economy by this mass printing of non value money. This country needs a super hard dark depression to clean the system..only then we will see the "change". The destruction of the central bank( aka) the FED is the only way to get this country back on path to better days.

This is bullshit...As resident of the Metro Detroit area, I understand what the Big 3 bring to the table. But their demise is going to happen regardless of Fed "bailout"..In my oppinion they should just let them FAIL. All the Fed is doing by these bailouts is prolonging the end. The economy will not turn around any time soon..The value of the Dollar is sinking due to all these bailouts. You cant just print money outa thin air people! All that does is cause inflation..Its not if..its when!

What's sad about that statement is that there is so little made in the U.S. anymore. New car parts are shipped in from Mexico and other countries, made in America right? I would gladly buy a new Chevy if I knew all the parts it was built with were made in the U.S. Thank companies like GM for outsourcing their parts which cost thousands of American jobs. If you look on the products you buy in a typical day they won't say "Made in America". So you and everyone buy foreign every day.

I don't think you would feel this way if you were an employee of G.M.! You must not be an American either.Pretty sad and you probably have a mansion in New York.

Before you know it this country will have nothing made in America. For some unknown reason we are now going to do offshore drilling in Brazil for oil. Whats wrong with doing this in America. This is no longer a Democracy. Its a Dictatorship!
