just think humans could have driven dirtbikes and go carts and scooters and mopeds around for the next million years at least instead of wasting all the oil in 200 years

It's going to be much worst than the Great Depression. It's going to be the greatest crisis in the History of humankind. I'm not a harbinger of doom, I'm just telling you what's going to happen.

What hidden reserves? Are you talking about what one kook is claiming, for which there is no corroboration that I could find? Are you going to stake your future, and the future of civilization, on rumors of hidden vast reserves? It's so easy to believe conspiracy theories. It's far harder to transition away from oil. But that is what we must do, sooner or later. I say, sooner. Don't force the problem on our children.

Good one bendeleugenaars, thank you-

What's the music at the end of part 2? (Moon River, I know, but who's the DJ?)

Im currently working on my thesis on Peak Oil. Last summer, I interviewed Jean-Marie Bourdaire, a renowned geophysicist, who told me at the end of our discussion, I trust we are at the end of mankind. Worrying, bearing in mind he is a very rational man with great experience in the energy market. In fact, he is the former Director of the Long-Term Co-operation and Policy Analysis Office (IEA) and previous Director of Economic Studies at Total.

"I trust we are at the end of mankind"

Is that a literal quote?

The only way theoretically "to keep the party going" is Nuclear Fision.

But still, other major problems may come like water supply, etc...
