The first (and last) hard-fought, free and democratic election of the Eastgerman parliament (Volkskammer) took place march the 18th 1990. None of my Eastgerman countryman considers oktober 3rd in 1990 (day of German reunification) to be the end of communism here. It was rather OKTOBER 9th in 1989 when the communist regime had to surrender to a crowd of 70.000 "citoyen" demonstrating peacefully in Leipzig. "Wir sind das Volk!"
@b1mstar "This concert took place in Berlin November 25th in 1989. It was to celebrate the end of communism in the east and the fall of the Berlin Wall one month before.
For that occasion it was sung as Ode to Freedom instead of Ode to Joy! "
Also, wer ist hier ein offensichtlich ungebildeter Trottel
