I'm not so sure thats a bad thing. When Brown gave regulatory powers to the newly formed FSA it left the BOE liable to pick up the problem without being able to influence policy. The FSA was very light touch..
If the BOE is going to pick up the pieces it needs more say and control...

Brown is bad enough, but Cameron will be worse. The Tories have stated they will hand even more powers to the corrupt bank of England.

Vote Incapability Brown or "dodge-the-question" Dave, but have the nerve to vote BNP. That might force the main parties to start putting the the British born people first. Five years ago I put in for Legal Aid. I was told my case only had a 35% chance of winning, and was denied funding. The next day one of the broadsheets run an article, which stated Asylum Seekers get up to £12,000 legal aid to fight deportation orders even if their chances are zilch! What the fuck are we, chopped liver?

You need to do a bit more research.. Copied all over the world.. Ummh.. well in the us 100 banks have gone bust and we know Santander went on a shopping spree and acquired. Alliance and leicester, abbey , bradford and bingley etc..
The other main banks HSBC and Barclays said no thanks to the Govts intervention. have you any idea how much this has cost ???

The government didnt force anything . Northern Rock nationalization was opposed by the tories ! dont know about torie possition on rbs but they opposed the bail out so it wouldnt suprise me if they oposed that too. government policy has been copied all over the world !! the opposition of the bail out has been copied by non, if bush had bailed out leighman bros the whole thing might have been avoided

Dob
Ummh
The Govt firced Lloyds to take over Halifax which crippled Lloyds and now the EU are saying the banks must be broken up...Santander mopped up most of the other banks.. Northern Rock and RBS are all but nationalised and should have been so..
I fail to see where this policy has been a great success and at some stage the Govt will have to stop printing money and live in the real world.

Thankyou we are ! The dept has risen and will keep rising and its a bad situation but as i keep saing its just a convienient that the tories werent in power if the where we would have no bail out package we wouldnt have any bank lending from the 3 that would still be left, everyone in northern rock would be pennieless now ! business lending would have gone out the window ! so although the situation is bad it would be completely illogical to vote for the party which would have made it worse !
