No doubt that they couldn't cover Voodoo child any better, not by a LONG shot.

On this though I think they make the original sound dull by comparison...especially if you listen to The Pretenders studio version, the guitar sounds wicked and the whole thing has a flowing feel to it that the original lacks.

That's because the original has a little something called Funk. As much as I Love Chrissie and the original Line-Up of this band, They sacrifice every bit of Funk And Most Of The Soul of the original to go for a spacey version. Some Nice Guitar Tricks but just misplaced here.

Makes sense we see it oppositely,I'm pretty much not liking funk.

I like the way Pretenders give the song an "on the move" motion and add texture.

I do however like "spacey"...quite a bit.

Chrissie is one of the best Jimi interpreters
It took me a while to get into this,
but I bet Jimi would've loved this

I often wonder what Jimi would think of Hynde, she's so in love with his music and the studio version of this could possibly be better than Hendrix and if not, different in the best way. Also her cover of Bold as Love is amazing.
