Why destroy our pride, when we see a plane we see a marvel in engineering a sign of technology, flying at 38,000ft Traveling at Mach .80 and carrying 280 passengers, which are safer there than in a car ride. when you see a train what do you see? Green? Slower Travel? Higher Cost? More Prone to Delays?
Have you seen the 787-900ER coming out? Exspells the same amount of carbon emmsions as a train ride from New York-Boston, can you beat that, Can you?

Maybe if the trains in Our countries where as good as in japan we wouldn't need to fly as much,
I can't remember the exact statistics but verry few trains are late and a train is late if it arrives more than a minute after it was supposed to arrive.

Yes, the planet does have warm and cold cycles, and this is directly correlated to CO2 levels in the atmosphere. What we're seeing at the moment, though, is a massive increase in CO2 levels that is affecting and will continue to affect Earth's climate. In 600,00 years, the level of CO2 has never risen above 300ppm(parts per million), even during warm periods. But now we've shot above to almost 400ppm in a very short space of time and this WILL affect the climate.
