Just the main theme? Or is it an arrangement from the entire soundtrack?

When my European friends tell me that we American's have little "classical" music. I always tell them, "you just don't know where to look". Look in the movies. It has been hiding there for nearly 80 years. This piece is one of my favorite examples of that. Brynner, Wallach, McQueen, Coburn, Vaugh, Bronson, Dexter, Buchholz. Great American adaptation. Bravo akvarog!!!

True, I think, too, that quite some of the (American) movie soundtracks are right up there with European classical music! And I'm European. I think a good soundtrack's just as great, in its own way, as a symphony by Beethoven.

If you are American and music like this does not stir your blood then you are not American. Just hearing this music brings out the pictures of America. The vast openness and rolling country that still is America.

best western movie music of all time and I love 'true grit' too but this one is tops.
