i have done more research and it appears I was wrong. Buddhists try to achieve Nirvana - which is the state of being free from suffering, not a divine state like I previously thought.

Thanks for clarifying.

I would think you might be good at chess by the way you use your mind.

I wouldn't call it wrong. There are Buddhists that believe in a deity and that give almost deity status to Buddha. It all depends on which branch of Buddhism we are talking about. That's why I asked for it. Many Buddhists are atheistic in their world view but believe in reincarnation, and they do have a religion they follow. Others (a smaller group from what I remember) believe in a kind of Theistic god. So you are right in that some Buddhists should be seen as Theists. I wasn't clear enough.

I guess maybe if everyone read the words to the song Imagine by John Lennon and lived by them maybe we would all have world peace --- Imagine no religion :)

" Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today "

He was however describing Christianity.

That was nice of John to tell you this! Did he also tell you why he denied his own son? No religion = christianity. The rest were ok with him? Hmmm. Thats interesting and also weak of you to pick and choose what he said to live your life by! He was far from perfect!

Only nutcases claim to speak with the dead. But we could look at another song of his called "God" where he states that he doesn't believe in various deities.

Of course that verse could fit for many religions and their respective god/s even Christianity.

(Remove the religion and you remove the god, easy)

I don't pick and choose how to live my life from a singer, although his message was good.

No one is perfect.

But you are right, I should have written

"he COULD have been describing Christianity"

Or any of the three Abrahamic religions.

Or any religion that shares heaven, hell.

Yes all probably his come back for his remark on being more popular than Jesus. Well after the coast was clear though! John loved to hold grudges!Guess if youre gonna idolize a man John is a far better Nut than the one in this video!

Actually, I don't idolize anyone, I might respect someone, but I don't idolize.

Well, John has existed, there has never been any evidence found that Jesus did exist.

I think your definition of "nut" might be somewhat askew.
