no its not. not at all. its just that i trained like a dumbass and used to punch with weights a lot. back in the day this was good exercise, no one knew any better, i overdid shit and i paid the price
damn, that sucks.....I remember when I was starting TKD my instructor forced me forward in a sit-and-reach stretch, and one of my tendons got strained or something so I couldnt walk for like a week. Do you practice w/ a makiwara board??
nah, I strengthened my knuckles w/ heavy bag. I started with gloves and wraps then wraps only and now I do a little barehand. but i hear you're not supposed to do that
makiwara training is better I beleive, cause it makes the knuckles exposed to a rougher surface than that of human skin, or you could go Rocky and start punching raw meat...lol
having knuckels meant for rough surfaces is good and well but the only rough parts of the face where that would be useful are places you shouldnt hit simply because you risk damage. Dont punch your enemy in the teeth, hit the jaw under the ear, the temple, the bridge of the nose, and the ear itself, these places cause some damage but garunteed pain, the kind that can force a knockout on evewn very large trained people, even boxers dont spend much time getting punch full on in the ear.
@Vaxxel not true, common misconception. hitting the heavybag barehands is great for knuckle conditioning, you just cant over do it just like with everything else. i would go about 50% power on the bag but never do power shots otherwise you know the story
