A rough breakdown of what I had to do to get one second of footage of a ball bouncing down a bowling lane.

I took a separate shot of the background for each frame because, as the eagle-eyed will have noticed, the focus changes with each shot. If I'd just used a single background frame over and over, it would have looked like I'd pasted a picture of a receding bowling ball over a still picture of a bowling alley.
