Scott LaFaro solo bass

A rare video of Scott LaFaro, the genius of double-bass who died at age of 25. A pity, it's so short, not even 10 sec !

This probably make Patitucci cringe in awe.

Scotty was the best.

Damn, I wish the camera guy would have just moved the camera down a little, so I could see his righthand technique better, because I'm really curious about it... His lefthand is kinda awkward though, it moves so much... you should say that at the speed at which he plays, one would actually want it to make only the necessery movement, instead of letting it fly all around, especially in the lower positions... Interesting clip :)

He used to play piano, i think thats the explanmation why his left hand technique is so "awkward". I think he switched during his college years, so thats impressive to pickup an instrument so quickly and be good at it. I just wish I could have listened to him playing piano.
