It was a joke the moment they used John Terry as the player figurehead for the scheme when he's undoubtedly one of the worst culprits. It was more of a joke the moment they rescinded a red card given by a referee during a game. If the FA and PL don't respect the referees decisions how can they expect the players to do it.
So basically use the rules that have been in place for rugby since time immemorial. Glad someone here has a bit of sense.
The excuse the FA etc always use is "yeah, but that's rugby..." as if that's a conclusive argument. Rugby didn't start out with all these sensible rules but adapted them to ensure a free flowing game where the officials weren't abused, something football is apparently not interested in doing.
look i'm a ref and i'm pretty sure that there is no rule saying we can send people off who 'harass' us they can be booked for dissent and only be sent off if they use insulting, abusive or offensive language/gestures. That rule does not cover harassing so no there is not a lot of measures us refs can take to make sure we are respected
So why not book them the moment they start crowding round you and book them a second time if they don't stop? Plus surely "You must be fucking joking???!!!" whilst towering over a ref and getting in his face counts as offensive abusive language?
And if you're a ref please explain to me why you lot had so much trouble implementing the 10 yard rule a few years back? It's been a rule of rugby since time immemorial with no problems, so why did your lot struggle? I've always wondered.
Don't worry I always book one of them straight away. If someone says you must be fucking koking me would you find that offensive, insulting or abusive. No it's not it's more disrespect and people having very little respect for referees. I'm only 13 years old so could not posssibly answer your question from many years ago.
the FA do not need to shut him up, his complaints were valid, the fa will always give liverpool an easy schedule because if they do not they will be killed by the liverppool fans, just like you lot killed juve fans and your own fans. :D
