I was very shocked when an american tourist asked me where I came from. When I answered Portugal he said "Oh! It's a city in Algarve!" O_o
That's like saying that the United States of America is a city in New York! I know I shouldn't be angry with the poor guy but I was a bit offended.

i agree, this isn't very fair. there are stupid people everywhere, i have seen shows like this in several places, and the results are similar. if anything, it just proves there are a LOT of ignorant people, but this is not exclusive to the USA.
