  • @Chegs45 So????? You're still a 'knocker down' of sincerity. Typical political brain!

  • @Chegs45 Whose record should I put this in? You still managed to 'knock' this guy down...................

  • @Chegs45 And???

  • @Chegs45 sorry I didn't quite get across what I was trying to say - I was actually having a go at Phil Collins more than trying to defend Alan. As a point of interest, did he actually say he would leave the country in 1992, as if he did, it seems there would have been a mass exodus, as I've seen the same quote attached to Paul Daniels, Bruce Forsyth, Des O'Connor, Brian May, David Bowie, Mick Jagger and Simon Bates?

  • @centurygardens31 for the record, I have a degree (2:1) in politics. :-)

  • @ythomitnellum read my post again. I didn't say he had lived outside the UK. I merely posted what he said about the 1992 election.

  • Great song from a great album. Thanks for posting.

  • price never recovered after dylan yelled at him for throwing a glass out a hotel window

  • @Chegs45 Alan's never lived outside the UK, unlike Phil Collins who sings about homelessness, and then lives outside the UK to avoid paying the taxes that might provide homes for some people.

I had a friend who's sadly no longer with us that manned a soup kitchen in Stoke when the Marchers came through the City; they were attacked by mounted police for no reason. The moral of the song is as appropriate today as ever.

  • what a great song - timeless
