She grew up in both countries and i think English people can do a class American accent to be honest......me being Irish,i travel stateside quite a bit so i encounter that scenario a lot

Some people tend to pick up on the accent of others around them, this tends to fade when you leave the country/place. Picking up on an accent tends to happen to people who were born in the place they visit...for me it's the south :) so I talk like Reese Witherspoon. I have friends from London (crazy city proper ha!) and when they fly to visit relatives they come back with a bit of an accent then it tends to fade within a week. It's all quite funny accents...

i mean i've seen backstage stuff or behind-the-scenes of x-files and there she has an american. so i wouldn't say it was fake....
