The Last of the Mohicans

Many stories were written about Native Americans, called also Indians, but the most I like Winnetou, he was my hero when I was teen-ager.He taught me about dignity .

@bombarderoazul I strongly suggest you see the movie The Mission with Robert DeNiro and Jeremy Irons. Although set in Brazil it is a very good story and sympathetic to native people. And lest I forget, greetings from the land of the Susquehannocks.

Here in El Salvador we have a native american hero called Atlacatl, he fought the spanish in the ealy 1500's and actually defeated them in one battle, but his people were eventually captured and many were massacred in the name of Jesus by the spanish. Hopefully somebody some day makes a movie of them, they were the pipil a southern tribe of what used to be the maya empire.

@Bearod35 Yeah, they managed to delay the spanish invasion for several years, they were one of the few native americans who put up a good fight and even after they were conquered several warriors continued to fight in the mountains, but eventually the spanish regrouped and conquered Cuscatlan which was the original name of El Salvador.

Hola, azul.
In 1680, the Pueblo indians drove the Spanish out of New Mexico. Sadly, once victory had been grasped, the Pueblos weren't able to hold a united front or agree on leadership.
I'll have to do some reading on Atlacatl.

Yes it is a Gaelic song but there's more to it. The sub melody (the moving part) is from the song The Gael. The melody is also from that song. This composition (if you listen) has the standard American symphonic band behind it. The percussion part was written to capture the Native American essence. It's a perfect piece for the movie because of the way they composed it: incorporating all cultural sounds from the movie. Native American percussion, Gaelic melody, and classic American symphony-orch.
