No, because of the very fast rate of fire, it only appears like that when shown in slow motion, there is a very slight delay between when he lets go and when that stops the firing mechanism.
The mg42 can fire 1200rpm so that is 20rps and I counted about 2 rounds exiting the chamber after he removes his finger so that equates to a delay of about 0.4 seconds which is reasonable
