He didn't actually play the bass lines for the Sex Pistols on "Never Mind the Bollocks...". Steve Jones played every bass part except for Anarchy in the UK which was played by Glen Matlock the original bassist. Sid couldn't really play bass very well at all and barely made it through their live shows. He was in the group because he embodied the punk image the group was selling.

Well, I read this years ago in an issue of Bass Guitar Magazine (which sadly no longer gets published) and I guess it kind of stuck with me. Apparently I remember things after I read them and it all just gets kind of stored up in my brain somehow. Does it not work that way for you?
