she is trying to get all the fibers to go the same way. you do this after the wool is clean. you need tyhe fibers to go the same way to spin it

This was so cool and informative--I am working on carding right now and watching this lady's matter-of-fact handling of the wool really helped me a lot. Also, it seems so gracious of her and her family to let you share in a simple home moment. How lovely!
