I liked the soundtrack and Richard Pryor's cameo but the movie as a whole is kind of forgettable save for the soundtrack. I never understood why this was so popular and stuff like Dolemite and Black Samson goes by forgotten.

Black Samson is the shit! Esp. the street fight at the end! William Smith is the best all-around villain there is. One of them, anyway.

Great movie and soundtrack..., btw, I'm raising awareness about the Chinese Communist Party persecution of 70 million Falun Gong spiritual practitioners for 10 years in China. They are put in slave-labor camps, forced to make stuff sold here. A 2009 UN report said vital organs are even taken from them and sold on the black market. Falun Gong practitioners are peaceful, not terrorists. China is where all the jobs are going, and the media doesn't cover it. It must stop. Thanks.
