I really think that Stevie could stand up to any guitarist ever. But he would probably just like to jam with them instead. Stevie's skill never went to his head. He still remembered were he came from and he was damn proud of it. I just feel sorry for his guitar necks.

* Although on the song Life by the drop, from the Sky is crying album, he used a 12-string Guild, tuned in standard tuning.

Dude, if anyone ever makes a movie on this legendary man, it should open with this song being played over the credits. This was the very first song by SRV that I ever heard. Just a great piece of music.

BADASS! I wasn't to impressed by SRV when I was a kid. I was heavily into slide guitar, mainly Robert Johnson. However, after he died my dad bought me that album "The Sky Is Crying", and he did 'Boot Hill' with a slide, and that sold me.
