Allen Ginsberg - Beat poet, father of flower-power, reading his poem 'Hum Bom!', on stage at megatripolis club-night, HEAVEN nightclub (October 19 1995). An audience of around 1000 people. Great atmosphere. Re-written and updated for the two Iraq wars. Ginsberg was reading as part of his penultimate trip to the UK which included performing at the Royal Albert Hall the previous evening, accompanied by Paul McCartney on guitar. He read a mixture of material from the 70's White Shroud era, 80's Cosmopolitan Greetings and 90's new and unpublished poems. He also sang and played the harmonium at the reading lasting 53 minutes. An hour-long q + a session took place in the 'Techno-silence suite' at the venue after the reading. This was his final stage performance in the UK. There was a standing ovation after leading a mass singalong of William Blake's 'The Nurses Song' to end the reading. An absolutely awesome night.

Let's stay ontopic. Awesome poem. Nobody's saying this is as epic as milton or shakespeare, it's a small poem, but a very accurate and descriptive one, political, psychological and humorous, it's great!
