yeah but there's always FFXIII Agito that one seems more like the old ones, and XIV even I don't have high hopes for it seems like it too. I think they'll make a Main game that has old elements someday
I am tired of all the current half RPGs available, none of them offered what I loved in the original FF series.. not even close.. Personally, I think the height of Final Fantasy's FANTASY was in the awesome summoning magic.. very aesthetical and breathtaking, I don't care about glassy galactic empires fighting plated characters with turret bullet showers.. nothing beats wizards summoning mythical beings or fragile damsels burning giant golems..
After seeing, it brings back my good memories from childhood, yet sad at the same time that everything has changed over the past few years that most producers couldn't care less about deep storyline rather than graphics.
Let alone the remake of this game. Otherwise, SquareEnix will try to add some quests and messed up the sountracks that will actually lose it's originality. It's best to leave as the way it is.
I don't think it's such a horrid thing, though. I mean, we're saying they went all sci-fi, but, really, the only thing that is going "Sci-fi" is Final Fantasy XII and Versus. Everything else has stayed true to the fantasy element.
I'd hardly see them taking -that- drastic of a new direction. They simply couldn't succeed doing the -same- exact thing over and over again. I mean, as awesome as FF1-VI were...could you -really- do that forever? I couldn't. FFVII was really a "Change". Was that bad?
Um Silenthill..... SquareEnix is mostly people from Square, not Enix, and if you don't like modern games don't play them. Btw, although VII was epic, I still like VI better for it's story. Terra and Celes really steal the show, and the music is amazing.
Well duh, of course, Dissidia is not made by Square so it's bound to be retarded in comparison to the original.
That (of course) goes for all things FF-related.
Square was dissolved in late 2002 (officially legally dead in 2003).
All subsequent titles that have been produced by Enix are merely cheap imitations (and not canon in any way), and have nothing whatsoever to do with the the real, actual series of games called Final Fantasy made by Square between 1987 to 2002.
Yeah in a way i agree, some spin-offs of the series like dirge of cerberus was kind-of a trying hard wannabe and has an anime-style to it, it's like, having a semi-mature story whilst the execution was just plain childish (anime-like)
@horrorvictim yea i didn't like this on the ps. well i mean i liked it but it was the same thing except with 1 single opening fmv and a longer save and load time..

I wish that day would come fast!
