I'm french and american and usually think french adaptations totally suck. But I fell in love with this version after the movie came out in France after I'd hardly paid attention to "A whole new world" in the US.
The movie is much better in English especially for Robin Williams' lines, but this song is so much better. I find that the french-canadian version just sounds weird if not ridiculous. Plus Aladdin sings better in the "real-french" version (j'adore taquiner les québecquois, désolé).
