kontiki78, Sonny Boy could be more bluesy, in fact he was the blues, but music isn´t just the blues, so Butterfield in my opinion desearves to be with yhe greatest of all time. P.S.I think saoony Boy was one of the greatest players but also Butterfield was. They're just different noone was better than the other.
Who's the idiot that compared Butterbean with Mr Williamson, it is like comparing a bag of potatoes with a bag gold nuggets. Are they so dumb or deaf that can not listen who real bluesman and the harp player was? If they love so much that butterbean what are they doing here uh? because deep inside they enjoy much more to listen to the real deal.
@kontiki78 True, True. Also Butterfield had less feeling, more technique, Sonny Boy Williamson had all the technique in his natural way of playing but the feeling was double.
*****I like Sonny Boy's recordings with accoustic instruments (with Billy Stepney on drums & Matt Murphy on accoustic git on Storyville). And that one too. I did a new tibute - guess what - to SONNY BOY II and like invite you to watch it, I hope to give you a little back from the fun i had when I created it, Greetings.
Not many people know it but Sonnyboy II was together with Sonnyboy I Jimmy Reed's main influence. After Sonny boy died Jimmy Reed recorded a tribut to him in 1966. Now Jimmy Reed is dead over 30 years and I did a little tribut to him on youtube. It is an animated short. Just over a minute long. Just click on my name to watch it. Comments/ratings are welcome!
